What is MERIT?

A no-code builder for cognitive studies, for the lab and beyond

MERIT is a no-code platform for cognitive research. Create research-grade experiments in minutes, deploy them anywhere, and collect data with laboratory precision—right on your participants’ own devices.

Create engaging 2D and 3D tasks

Design tasks your participants actually want to complete. From classic reaction-time tests to rich 3D environments, MERIT makes it simple to create, customize, and deploy game-like experiences with drag-and-drop simplicity. From quick daily check-ins to multi-phase studies, your tasks match your research needs.

Millisecond-accurate data for lab-level precision

Precise data is essential for serious research. MERIT is built to capture responses and timing with millisecond accuracy across mobile and desktop devices. Whether your study runs in-lab or remotely, your data holds up to peer review. MERIT helps your research scale without losing validity.

"Our lab can now reach participants on any device without losing accuracy. MERIT has given us the ability to take rigorous tasks outside the lab, something that was previously unthinkable.."

The challenge

Lab-grade tasks on mobile with millisecond precision

No existing products supported deploying lab-grade tasks on participants' mobile devices. The only option was fragile custom code that was slow, unstable, and error-prone, while still failing to achieve millisecond precision timing.

How Curious helped

No-code builder for lab-grade tasks

MERIT’s no-code builder replaced fragile code with a flexible platform that enables NKI to deliver cognitive tasks on iOS and Android devices for fast, accurate, and scalable data collection both in and outside the lab.

The outcome

NKI used cognitive tasks built on MERIT with participants aged nine to ninety five, reaching 500 people in and out of the lab. The platform provided millisecond precision and flexibility for protocol refinement.

We built MERIT because creating cognitive studies shouldn’t require coding skills or months of setup. Researchers deserve tools that are fast, accurate, and accessible. Our goal is simple: make it easier to design and run high-quality studies anywhere. We can’t wait to see what you create with MERIT.
